Spring Break

This week, I have been on spring break. What an amazing time this has been. For the last several weeks, I've been really stressed out. Stressed out with jobs, commitments, and trying to be a great Dad and husband.

Then came Spring Break. For me, it has been a great rest. It reminds me of the moments when Jesus goes away from everyone. He departs from the people to spend time in solitude. He created space

to
be
alone

I've been able to do that this week. I got to spend time by myself in quiet solitude with God. Just Him, me, and a devotional. I can't remember the last time that I got to do that with Him.

Solitude also took on a different form as well. Solitude was staying away from my jobs, and spending time with my son. We played, we went for walks, we hung out. It was also engaging in deep meaningful conversations with my wife. Things that I have not gotten to do, I did them. And it has been one of the most rewarding weeks of my life. I got to see what it meant to live out the mission of Jesus. I got to truly spend time in prayer, and study of the Word. I got to engage in discussions that was more than about the daily grind.

This has been an amazing mountaintop. Monday is coming, and I'm ready. Ready to handle the challenges, and the triumphs. I'm ready to live out the mission of Jesus,

as a preacher,
as a teacher,
mentor,
friend.

That is why God gives us these moments. To see the bigger picture. What I have gained from this is the need to make space to spend time in solitude with God. To be more active missionally, and not just talk about it. To talk more than just the stresses of jobs. To be present. I'm ready.

More to come later...
